Christmas in the village

The decorations are taken out of their boxes, the Christmas trees are decorated and the village is draped in its finest.
On December the first, the Association will switch on the huge Christmans tree on the top of the village, which is visible from miles away, signalling that way that Christmans are on their way....
On Christmas Eve, the association, accompanied by plenty of people and traditional Cretan instruments, sings carols throughout the whole village, from house to house, marking the beginning of the Christmas holidays!
On New Year’s Eve, the association distributes the following year’s calendar to every resident of the village after first singing to all New Year’s carols!
On the first morning of the new year the association holds a celebration in the village square for all the children, with Santa Claus giving out gifts and spreading the joy and happiness as well as wishes for an exciting, healthy and happy New Year!
