The Feast of Raki

During the First Sunday of Octomber, the association organizes a Feast in the name of the traditional alcoholic beverage, raki, in the main square in Pitsidia.
Many, many people, both Greeks and non- Greeks alike, can stand witness to how the distillation of this drink has been accomplished for years come pass, with tradition and a touch of fun.
A Feast without music and dancing in Crete is simply not possible, and so the association makes sure that there is always a band ready to play traditional music which is followed by dancing. In this way, both young people and visitors, can learn the traditions of our home!
This year the associaton organises something new!People who will attend the Raki feast in Pitsidia square will have the chance to taste the traditional, and not only, food of Crete cooked ONLY with olive oil one nice gesture of the village's residents!
